Google brings 3D to the Web
BANGALORE, INDIA: Accelerated 3D graphics can now be brought into computing, thanks to the new software from Google, christened O3D. The new software straight out of the Google Labs is a browser plug in, currently compatible with Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari, and Chrome that works on Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux.
The Labs' scientists are said to be looking at building the technology directly into browsers at a later stage.
Google SMS services in India launched on Oct. 9th
Mobile users now don't need to open www.google.com and search for local business, movie show times, restaurants etc. With Google SMS mobile messaging service, users can get business listings, movie showtimes and more simply by sending a text message to the shortcode 54664 [5GOOG] from their mobile phones. This means that mobile phone without browser capability and Internet access can also access the information from Google through their cell phones!
